WCT’s 2015 Season
Willits Community Theatre – 2015 Season
Lips Together, Teeth Apart – by Terrence McNally.
A dark comedy by one of America’s greatest playwrights. McNally is the author of such plays as Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Love! Valour! Compassion! and Master Class. This searing and relentless dramatic comedy features some of the most blistering dialogue ever written and will be performed by four of Willits’ finest actors: Karla McDonald, Patricia Willis, Damian Sebouhian and Steve Marston. The all-star cast will be directed by Bill Barksdale, whose name has become synonymous with quality over his 21 year career of directing hit shows for Willits Community Theatre.
Kill Me, Deadly – by Bill Robens.
Is it a noir comedy? Or a spoof of a noir drama? Or is it a send-up of spoof of a noir potboiler, the kind of cheap thrills flick that sent Humphrey Bogart to Casablanca and made Sydney Greenstreet a household name in Kansas? Whatever it is, it rings with the following kind of dialogue: “I know your mother’s murder must have been hard on you, but it just so happens that with the 50 million semolians you look to inherit due to your old lady’s run-in with the business end of Smith and Wesson, you’ve hit the top of LAPD’s “most likely prep-school flunky to ice their mothers” list. So either you play straight with me, or you keep crackin’ wise and get yourself fitted for a new pair of striped pajamas, capiche?”
Need we say more?
Plays June 12 through 28.
Always… Patsy Cline — by Ted Swindley.
Country and Western legend Patsy Cline as seen though the eyes of one of her most devoted fans. It turns out that despite all that talent and all that fame, Patsy was still a regular gal who liked to eat a little bacon with her eggs in the morning. WCT is honored to have Willits’ own Necole Suttles playing Patsy, a role which will have her singing 27 classic songs, including “Crazy,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “San Antonio Rose” and “If You’ve Got Leavin’ On Your Mind” backed up by a live band.
Plays August 14 through August 30.
