Black History Month Celebration and Dinner

Celebrate Black History Month with multiple events and s soul food dinner. Educational art display: “Contemporary Black Artists” with a focus on Bisa Butler’s work. Also jazz musician collages made by students, curated by Jazzminh Moore. Collage workshop with Jazzminh Moore, all ages. Exhibition of African masks from Marlena River’s collection, as well as fetishes and kachina statues. Poetry and storytelling circle, all ages, especially children. Film: “Black America Since MLK.” Live music and dance with Amadou Camara and Maria Soumah. Local vendors. Raffle. Suggested donation $10, dinner $25 advance, $25 at door. Tickets: J.D.
